In Memory

Soke Leslie Mike Hancock

I had the distinct pleasure to have met Soke Mike Hancock many years ago at my Sensei’s Hakutsuru Training camp in Savanna Illinois.

Since then, it has become an honor to have known him, his family and organization. Shortly after with Sensei Sandoval’s blessing, Soke Hancock appointed me as their Regional Caribbean Representative for his organization.

Throughout the years I have been in numerous of training session where I have witnessed Soke Hancock training ethics and his dedication to the arts, thus my admiration of him is not just as an accomplish master, but also of a man with impressive qualities.

Today his legacy is alive by his loving wife, Shihan Amy, daughter Shelly, son Doug and with his long time friend and student Soke Matt Molineux who is the successor and style head to Shinmei Shorin-ryu.

If there is any martial arts training in Heaven, well it just got intense. Rest in Peace Soke.
